Refocused on Global Web Effectiveness
For the past five years, I have primarily focused on managing hreflang management as a full service and creating a world-class SAAS solution with Hreflang Builder. Now that I have sold Hreflang Builder, I want to return to doing the work that I really enjoy—solving problems and helping improve website effectiveness. These past years trying to implement hreflang into enterprises has shown me that companies need help. They have become decentralized and lack the processes and communication essential for managing a global website.
Global Web Effectiveness is not just another buzzword; it’s a crucial aspect of your digital transformation journey. It encompasses the holistic experience of usability, technical infrastructure, brand identity, and best practices in website management, all tailored for a worldwide audience. These practices must be documented, shared, and enforceable to maintain consistency, quality, and effectiveness. Some of my focus areas will be:
Problem Solving – A client comes to us, indicates a problem, and asks us to help them find a solution. Using our diagnostic methodology, we identify the gap between current and expected states, identify the actions and process changes necessary to achieve the desired outcome and a roadmap for implementation, and finally, a measurement element to monitor performance along the journey.
Centralizing Global Web Solutions—Many aspects could/should be centralized, including hreflang, sitemaps, templates, digital assets, and SKUs. Surprisingly, few companies even consider the increased efficiency and effectiveness of centralizing these core activities.
Hreflang Implementation & Management – more than just offering a solution but developing the strategy and making the implementation and, most importantly, management more effective. I can shadow your team to be a sounding board for the solution and develop an acceptance testing protocol to ensure the solution is implemented correctly.
Website Transformation Performance Preservation – collaborating with companies to preserve the current performance and maximize gains from major infrastructure shifts, including changes to domain names, platforms, creative or technology refreshes, and consolidation of or changes in content.
Global Centers of Excellence – Your global web infrastructure can only be truly effective when there is collaboration, cooperation, direction and governance. Using shared goals, solutions, and infrastructures, companies can be exponentially more successful than when working independently.
I’m looking forward to working on a few key projects with some amazing friends and partners, including how-to guides, webinars, and a new podcast that will kick off later this week. If you need a partner for any of these offerings, reach out, and let’s find a way to work together.
